Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using our services or website.

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Your Garage Guru ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of our website (yourgarageguru.ca) and garage door services.

By accessing our website or engaging our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our website or services.

2. Services Provided

Your Garage Guru provides garage door installation, repair, and maintenance services throughout Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, including but not limited to:

  • Garage door installation (residential and commercial)
  • Spring replacement and repair
  • Cable and track repairs
  • Garage door opener/motor installation and repair
  • Preventive maintenance and tune-ups
  • Emergency repair services

3. Service Call Fee

A service call fee of $45 CAD applies to all service appointments. This fee covers the technician's visit to diagnose your garage door issue and provide a detailed estimate.

Important: If you proceed with the recommended repair or service, the service call fee is waived and applied toward your total service cost. If you decline the service, the $45 service call fee remains payable.

Additional fuel surcharges may apply for locations outside our standard service area. These charges will be communicated at the time of booking.

4. Quotes and Pricing

All quotes provided by Your Garage Guru are estimates based on the information available at the time of assessment. While we strive to provide accurate quotes, the final price may vary if:

  • Additional issues are discovered during the repair process
  • The scope of work changes at your request
  • Parts require special ordering or are different from standard specifications

Price Guarantee: Once you approve a written estimate, that quoted price is final. You will not be charged more than the approved amount, even if the job takes longer than anticipated.

Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise specified.

5. Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of services unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept the following payment methods:

  • Cash
  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Debit cards
  • E-Transfer

All prices are quoted in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

6. Warranty

Your Garage Guru provides the following warranties on our services:

Labour Warranty

We warrant our workmanship for a period of 90 days from the date of service completion. If any issues arise due to our workmanship within this period, we will return to address them at no additional charge.

Parts Warranty

Parts installed by Your Garage Guru are covered by the manufacturer's warranty, which typically ranges from 1 to 5 years depending on the product. We will provide warranty documentation for all parts installed.

Warranty Exclusions

Warranties do not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or accidents
  • Modifications or repairs performed by others
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Acts of nature (floods, fires, earthquakes, etc.)
  • Pre-existing conditions not disclosed at the time of service

7. Scheduling and Cancellation

We offer service appointments 7 days a week from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Same-day service is available based on technician availability.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment: No charge
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment: $25 CAD cancellation fee may apply
  • No-shows without prior notice: Full service call fee ($45) may be charged

8. Customer Responsibilities

To ensure safe and efficient service, customers agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about the issue and service location
  • Ensure clear and safe access to the garage door and work area
  • Remove vehicles and obstacles from the work area before the technician's arrival
  • Inform us of any known hazards or special conditions
  • Ensure someone 18 years or older is present during the service appointment
  • Provide access to electrical power as needed

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Your Garage Guru's total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.
  • We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or conditions not caused by our services.
  • We are not liable for delays or failures in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).

10. Property Access and Damage

By engaging our services, you grant our technicians permission to access your property to perform the agreed-upon work. We carry comprehensive liability insurance to protect against accidental damage.

If you believe our work has caused damage to your property, please notify us within 48 hours of service completion. We will promptly investigate and address any valid claims.

11. Website Use

When using our website, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when submitting forms
  • Not use the website for any unlawful purpose
  • Not attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Not transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Not copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without permission

12. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Your Garage Guru or its content suppliers and is protected by Canadian and international copyright laws.

13. Dispute Resolution

We are committed to resolving disputes amicably. If you have a concern:

  2. Mediation: If we cannot resolve the dispute directly, either party may request mediation through a mutually agreed-upon mediator.
  3. Legal Proceedings: Any legal proceedings shall be conducted in the courts of British Columbia, Canada, and shall be governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
